Homekeeper's Journal - April 12, 2011

Print

In my kitchen this week …..
So far, not a whole lot!  We have been busy with our teenagers activities which makes it hard to cook "normal" dinners at home.  I have managed to bake 3 loaves of honey wheat bread.

In my home this week …..
School, soccer games, theater practices, youth group, scouts... and my husband's birthday on Sunday!

Read these verses
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:22

These verses tell me ……
I need daily renewal of my mind and heart to be closer to God; seek forgiveness daily, so I have a clean conscience with God.

Now read these verses
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.  For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

These verses tell me ………
Out of the mouth, the heart speaks.  I need to be daily in God's Word so I will be transformed by Him, not the world.

I will start Spring Cleaning my Heart this week by ……
Daily Bible reading and meditating on His Word.

  3. Hi Ellen! I just stumbled on your blog--I have to say, 3 loaves of honey wheat bread sounds quite impressive! And there's nothing like freshly baked bread to make you feel like you are truly home.
I also love Psalm 51:10--it reminds me that I can't change my own heart and conjure up goodness--God has to put that in me. If I ask, he will give me his love, his peace, his joy. Thanks for that verse to meditate on!
