Do not judge. Luke 6

Print

Today's reading: Luke 6

After a night of prayer, Jesus names His 12 apostles.  He teaches on the Sabbath, good living, and the blessings and judgments in the Beatitude.

Scripture:
Luke 6.37   "Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned."

Observation:
If I judge others, I will be judged.
If I condemn others, I will be condemned.
If I pardon others, I will be pardoned.

Application:
Oh, this one resonates deeply.  I am a judgemental person.  There... I said it.  I am not proud of it, but God - in His infinite grace, mercy and love - has been whittling out the root cause of it.  This is not an easy or pleasant time in my life.  I am learning that the problem isn't other people... it is me.  Picture my daughter glaring at me... head cocked... eyebrows raised... saying, "judgmental much?"  *Ouch*

Prayer:
God... Thank you for loving me even when I am unlovable.  Keep me close to You and help me take every thought captive before it becomes part of me.  Amen

Blessings,

     Ellen
