Tuna Salad

I like a simple tuna salad to go with my honey wheat bread!  This recipe needs only a couple items along with a bowl and stirring spoon.

tuna fish
onion, chopped
salt and pepper to taste

1)  Dice onion.  For 12 oz tuna, I used 1/2 of a med/large onion.

2)  Combine tuna (drained if using from a can), onion, and mayonnaise.  Add enough mayo to make it creamy or to your own personal preference.

3)  Add salt and pepper to taste.  Mix well.

4)  Enjoy!  I love this with my honey wheat bread... scrumptious!

  4. So simple and yet delicious! I have made tuna salad in a good long time. Not sure why. I have a can calling my name.

  5. I always add pickle relish and celery also.

    1. I always add pickle relish, and boiled egg cut good!

    2. I never thought of adding celery..... ummmm! I have kids who don't do pickles so relish is out... until they move out on their own! Thanks for the great ideas!

  6. If you want a refreshing summer tuna salad use the onion (red is better when making sandwiches), 2 hard boiled eggs, celery (apro. 1-1/2 leaves), diced sweet pickles or relish (I use bread & butter when I have it), mayo, white pepper to taste, juice from 1 lemon, & 1 teaspoon spicy brown mustard.

Tip # 1: Remember to roll your lemon back & forth with the palm of your hand to get as much lemon juice as possible!

Tip # 2 The spicy brown mustard works with the lemon juice to make a tangy & delicious tuna salad! I always squeeze lemon juice over baked & pan seared fish fillets! You can use the regular prepared mustard if you do not have the spicy brown on hand!

  7. I used to make the tuna salad with tuna, mayonaise, capers and apple pieces.. It's delicious!
