Smitten... a book review

Print

(available December 20, 2011)

Natalie, Julia, Shelby, and Reese are close girlfriends helping each other through the good and the bad times.  When their town of Smitten loses its biggest employer, Smitten Lumber, the girls put their heads together and brainstorm a way to keep their town alive.  Why not capitalize on the town's name, Smitten, and make it into the premiere honeymoon and romantic getaway?

While creating a new image for the town,
could the girls find romance themselves?

I enjoyed reading about the true bonds of friendships among the four women.  They not only encourage each other, but also speak God's truth into their friend's lives.

My favorite line from the book is when Reese ponders God's love for her.... "After all, our love for You really can't measure up to Your extravagant love for us.  I'm sorry, God.  Let me love You like You love me.  Make me smitten."

Smitten: Love is on the way is a wonderful collaboration by four of Christian fiction's most popular romance novelists - Colleen Coble, Kristin Billerbeck, Denise Hunter, and Diann Hunt - close friends in real life as well!  Each of the authors wrote part of the novella focusing on one of the four main characters.  Included at the end of the book is a Reading Group Guide as well as "Conversation over Coffee with the Authors."  Also, enjoy recipes from Natalie, Reese's tips to motivate yourself to exercise, and Julia's spa tips and recipes.

I received a complimentary ebook from Thomas Nelson Publisher and NetGalley as part of their BookSneeze program for my honest review.

Blessings,

     Ellen
